NEW DELHI: The fourth edition of the Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship annual conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, titled ‘World Reorder’, reflects the country’s global ambitions spanning across continents amid prevailing uncertainties, said people involved in the preparations.

To be held in Delhi from January 8-10, the conference will have wide-ranging participation from global leaders including the Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg, former Italian PM Paolo Gentiloni and former Canadian PM Stephen Harper

While Malaysian leader Anwar Ibrahim, who is tipped to succeed incumbent Mahathir Bin Mohamad as the next PM, will be a star attraction, ministers and leaders from Europe and Russia will also be among the speakers as they debate the future of Europe at the three-day meet that is being jointly organised by the external affairs ministry and leading Indian think tank Observer Research Foundation. Europe is emerging as a key focus area for India while the country has rejuvenated its ties with Russia over the past two years.

Just as in the previous editions of the conference, the Indo-Pacific region will find prominence as the foreign ministers of Japan and Australia will attend the meet, as will the deputy foreign minister of Singapore and the US Indo-Pacific commander, while China will be represented by leading academics.

Besides, Nepal’s foreign minister and former Afghan President Hamid Karzai will debate the future of their respective countries. Afghanistan will be a key focus area at the conference, with the US representative for Taliban reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad also likely to be participate in the event.
