D-Street Buzz: Nifty Media outshines as Zee Entertainment jumps 3%; Sintex Plastics zooms 20%

The breadth of the market favoured the advances with 823 stocks advancing and 707 declining while 517 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 900 stocks advanced, 669 declined and 85 remained unchanged.





Nifty Media is the outperforming sector, up close to 2 percent led by Zee Entertainment, UFO Moviez and INOX Leisure.
The PSU Bank index has added half a percent with gains from State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Vijaya Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Bank of Baroda and Bank of India.
Selective FMCG stocks are also buzzing led by Colgate Palmolive, ITC, GSK Consumer, Godrej Consumer, Hindustan Unilever, Marico and Proctor & Gamble.
From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers included Reliance Nippon, Mphasis and Reliance Capital while the top losers are DHFL, RBL Bank and HUDCO.
The top BSE smallcap losers are Hotel Leela, Sintex Plastics and Vadilal Industries while the top losers are Bharat Road Network, Allsec Tech and Ashapura Intimates.
The top gainers from NSE include Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, Titan Company and Hero MotoCorp.
The top losers included YES Bank, IOC, BPCL, NTPC and ONGC.
The most active stocks were YES Bank, DHFL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Sun Pharma and Infosys.
