Hold your breath to know the places you might think twice before visiting if you are not a winter person. But in case you like winter season, these are the five handpicked countries for you where the climate is as unpredictable as anything!
So, here are the five of the coldest countries in the world!

Antarctica

Antarctica is the most chilly continent known by the fact. One of the cities of this continent is Vostok which has a population of scientists who work inside the world's most isolated research station. The city is located around 1,000 kilometres from the South Pole. Vostok is the driest and the most inhospitable region in the world where temperatures dip to minus 129 degrees Celcius!

Canada

The capital of Canada's Northwest Territories, Yellowknife is a home to over 20,000 people. The place's temperature sometimes dips to minus 32 degrees Celcius making it difficult for a human survival. Well, there is another city of Canada by the name -Snag which also records the lowest temperature of around minus 60 degrees Celcius.

Kazakhstan

The capital city records temperatures between minus 30 to 35 degrees Celcius during winters. With a population of over 800,000 people, Astana boasts of being the second coldest capital city after Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Mongolia

What can get worse than minus 41 degrees Celcius? In Mongolia's capital city, Ulaanbaatar, the temperature reached minus 41 degrees Celcius in 2015. Although the city's 1.3 million residents are used to the harshness of winter, it's the air pollution that takes a toll on their health.

Russia

Cities like Oymyakon, Verkhoyansk, Yakutsk in Russia are extremely cold. Oymyakon has a population of 500 residents and competes for the coldest place on Earth with another village in the same region, Verkhoyansk. Whereas, Yakutsk is the capital of Sakha Republic in Russia. All these three cities undeniably witness some of the harshest winters.
